It is with a great deal of sadness and heartache that we announce the passing of James Glendon Westmoreland, age 76, of Shelbyville, Tennessee. James, affectionately known as Jimmy by friends and family, left this life on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Vanderbilt–Bedford Hospital. His departure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his legacy of love, kindness, and integrity will forever be remembered.

Jimmy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Throughout his life, he was known for his warm personality, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones. Whether working hard to provide for his family or sharing a laugh with friends, Jimmy’s presence was always comforting and inspiring. His compassion and sense of humor touched everyone around him, and he had a way of making people feel special and valued. 

Jimmy’s life was a testament to resilience and love. He faced life’s challenges with strength and grace, always putting his family first. His devotion to his children and grandchildren was evident in everything he did, and he leaves behind a legacy of integrity and kindness that will continue to influence those who knew him. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his life and the impact he made on so many lives. 

The family is currently seeking support to cover funeral and memorial expenses. They are grateful for any contributions or kind words during this difficult time. A memorial service will be held soon to honor Jimmy’s memory, where friends and family can gather to share stories and pay tribute to a truly remarkable man. His spirit and love will forever remain in our hearts.
