 At 7:22 p.m. on Friday, a distressing call was made to 911 reporting that Adams had been seen swimming at Dewey Lake before suddenly going under the water and not resurfacing. The caller’s urgent report raised immediate concerns about a potential drowning or medical emergency, prompting a swift and coordinated response from multiple emergency agencies. 

Dewey Lake, a popular local recreational spot, became the focus of a large-scale rescue effort as authorities raced against time to locate Adams and determine his condition.The Prestonsburg Fire Department was among the first responders, deploying personnel equipped with boats, diving gear, and rescue tools to conduct a thorough search of the waters.
