An 18-year-old man has been left seriously injured after a double stabbing near a park in London.
The incident occurred near Kennington Park in Cooks Road at around 4:30 p.m. today (July 26).
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews responded to the scene and found two males with injuries.
They were both transported to the hospital for further treatment. The 18-year-old sustained serious injuries, and his condition is currently being assessed.
A 17-year-old male, who was less seriously injured, has been arrested in connection with the incident. The families of the two teenagers have been informed.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at around 1630hrs on Friday, 26 July, to a fight in Cooks Road, SE17. Officers attended along with ambulance colleagues.
Two males were taken to hospital suffering stab injuries. One of the males – aged 18 years – sustained serious injuries. Officers await an assessment of his condition.
The second male – aged 17 years – was less seriously injured. He has been arrested in connection with the incident. The families of the two teenagers have been informed.
Enquiries continue to establish the circumstances, led by CID officers responsible for policing Southwark and Lambeth.
