Among the victims were two families returning from a summer vacation. The Johnson family, consisting of parents Mark and Lisa, and their two children, Emily and James, were pronounced dead at the scene. 

The Williams family, traveling in a separate vehicle, also lost three members: parents Robert and Sarah, along with their youngest child, Mia.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic and heart-wrenching. "It was like nothing I’ve ever seen before," said Tom Harris, a motorist who narrowly avoided the crash. "There were cars overturned, and people were screaming for help. It was truly horrific."

Preliminary investigations suggest that the semi-truck driver may have lost control due to a tire blowout, though officials are still piecing together the exact sequence of events. 

The driver of the truck survived the crash and is currently being treated for injuries. Authorities have stated that he is cooperating fully with the investigation.
