Fawne Cindric Obituary - Matt Cindric Death: Creekside Middle School Teacher, Wife, Among 3 killed In Fiery New Smyrna Beach Accident

In a tragic incident, three individuals, including a Creekside Middle School teacher and his wife, lost their lives in a fiery crash in New Smyrna Beach. According to police, the collision occurred when a vehicle collided with a motorcycle.

The accident took place around 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Inlet Shores Drive. The deceased couple was identified as Matt and Fawne Cindric, aged 42 and 45, respectively. This information was confirmed through a social media post by Rep. Chase Tramont and a statement from Creekside Middle School.

"The Creekside Middle School family and Volusia County Schools are heartbroken over the loss of Matt Cindric, a beloved teacher, and his wife in a tragic automobile accident. I had the privilege to work with Matt for the last six years when I was principal at Creekside, and I can tell you this loss is very difficult as Matt was part of the heartbeat of that school.

He was a fixture as a youth sports umpire and referee and impacted our kids not only in the classroom but also on the field and courts. The entire Port Orange Community mourns the loss of this loving couple," stated the school's Chief of Staff, John Cash.

To support the grieving community, Creekside Middle School will have a grief support team available on Monday.

The report from the New Smyrna Beach Police indicated that the couple was traveling in a Nissan sedan that collided with a motorcycle driven by 27-year-old Justin Sexton of Holly Hill. The motorcyclist became trapped underneath the vehicle, which subsequently caught fire, resulting in all three individuals dying at the scene.
