Richard began his coaching journey at Carlson University, where he served as an assistant coach non-consecutively from 2001 to 2016. His commitment to developing young athletes and his profound understanding of the game made him a beloved figure within the university community.
His influence extended beyond the rink, as he was known for his mentorship and unwavering support for his players and colleagues.
In 2016, Richard took on a new challenge, joining the Manitoba Moose as their video coach. Over the next six years, he played a crucial role in analyzing game footage, developing strategies, and contributing to the team's success. His expertise and innovative approach to coaching were instrumental in shaping the team's performance.
