HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Jade Stice, a Hawaii Broadway star known best for her role in “Miss Saigon,” has died following a hiking accident in the continental United States, Hawaii News Now has learned.


Stice, a native of Windward Oahu, moved to New York at the age of 19 and soon became one of the original cast members of the Broadway musical "Miss Saigon." Her performance and dedication to her craft earned her a respected place in the theater community.

In 2004, Stice returned to her home state of Hawaii where she continued to share her talents on the local stage. In addition to her acting career, she pursued a passion for supporting families. 

She became a certified birth instructor and took on the role of family program manager for Family Hui Hawaii, an organization dedicated to strengthening families through peer-led support groups and education.

Jade Stice was 53 years old. Her legacy in both the performing arts and her contributions to family support services will be remembered by many.
