Dr. Mark Maslovich Alma Michigan Obituary : Dr. Mark Maslovich Death : Obstetrician-Gynecologist Mark Michael Edward Maslovich Dies

Dr. Mark Michael Edward Maslovich of Alma passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024. He was born on June 3, 1964, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to Walter and Marlene (née Lykoff) Maslovich. Mark's greatest joy in life was serving others. 

He attended the University of Western Ontario, where he realized his dream of becoming a physician. Mark worked as a family doctor in Kapuskasing, Ontario, for two years before beginning his OBGYN residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. 

He leaves a legacy of excellence, unwavering dedication, and compassionate care for his patients and colleagues in central Michigan.

On September 2, 1995, Mark married Renu in London, Ontario. They shared 28 years of marriage, raising their children, Emily and Liam, in Alma. Mark was a superhero to his children—a constant source of love, support, and inspiration. 

He had many hobbies throughout his life, including cooking, gardening, singing, playing the piano, sports, and art. 

Tending to his hobby farm brought him great joy. Mark also enjoyed participating with the Gratiot County Players and was an avid supporter of the Gratiot County Fair for Youth. 

He loved his community and generously shared his talents with many local organizations.

Mark will be cherished forever by his wife, Renu; his children, Emily (Trace Kuberski) and Liam; his mother, Marlene; his brothers, Randy (Laura), Christopher, and Terry (Jodi); 

his nephew, Ethan; his niece, Madelyn; his mother-in-law, Leela Varkey; his brother-in-law, Joe Varkey; and many extended family members and friends around the world.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter; his father-in-law, Dr. George P. Varkey; his grandparents, Harry and Anna Maslovich, Sam and Eleanor Lykoff, and Stan Ramsay; and his uncles, Phil Lykoff and Steve Maslovich.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Masonic Pathways, Doig Chapel. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home in Alma. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gratiot County Fair for Youth or the Gratiot County Players.
