Daniel Suffield Obituary : Paramedic Channel 4 Star Daniel Suffield and Lauren Evans Found Dead in Hednesford Murder-Suicide

A man found dead at a house in Staffordshire has been identified as Daniel Duffield, a paramedic working for the West Midlands Ambulance Service. The discovery of the bodies of Duffield, 24, from Cannock, and Lauren Evans, 22, from Bridgend in South Wales, has prompted a murder investigation by local authorities. 


The incident occurred at a home on Alpine Drive in Hednesford around 12:30 BST on Tuesday. While formal identification has not yet taken place, police believe the victims to be Duffield and Evans.

The West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that Duffield was employed at their hub in Willenhall. Senior Operations Manager Richard Barratt expressed the deep sense of loss felt by the community, stating, “Daniel Duffield was a well-known member of staff and always keen to help and support his colleagues. 

His death at such a young age is a great tragedy. I hope Daniel’s family can take some comfort from the hundreds of patients he helped through his time as a paramedic. Our thoughts go out to the families of both of those found at the scene.” The ambulance service is providing specialist support to staff as they cope with this tragic news.

Daniel Duffield was a recognizable face to many, having appeared in the 11th season of the Channel 4 series "999: On the Frontline." The show follows paramedics as they respond to emergency calls, showcasing their dedication and the challenges they face. Duffield’s participation in the series highlighted his commitment to his work and his willingness to share his experiences with a broader audience.

Tributes have been pouring in for Duffield. His sister posted a heartfelt message on Facebook, expressing her devastation and describing him as the best brother she could have asked for. Staffordshire Police have initiated a murder investigation and have referred themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to recent contact with the police. Detective Superintendent Nicki Addison has urged the public to refrain from speculating about the circumstances surrounding the deaths. She emphasized that the families of the victims are receiving support from specialist officers as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
