Brady Niver Accident : Brady Niver Death and Obituary : Fulton teen Brady Niver injured in crash dies 8 days after school sweetheart

A Fulton teen has died more than a week after being critically injured in a crash that also claimed the life of his school sweetheart.

Brady Niver, 16, of Fulton, passed away on Monday from injuries sustained in the crash, confirmed Fulton School Superintendent Brian Pulvino.

Brady's 17-year-old girlfriend, Rylee Bartlett, was driving when their car crossed into oncoming traffic at 5:35 p.m. on April 30, on state Route 48 near Chesbro Drive in the town of Granby. Rylee was killed in the crash, and Brady, a passenger, was severely injured.

Over the past week, the Fulton community has rallied together, praying for Brady as he underwent surgeries and remained in critical condition at Upstate University Hospital.

The couple, who had been dating since seventh grade, was eagerly anticipating attending the junior prom, "A Night Under the Stars," this Friday. On Monday night, Pulvino sent a message to families in the school district, informing them that Brady had succumbed to his injuries earlier in the day. The school district’s crisis response team will be available for students and staff starting Tuesday at G. Ray Bodley High School.

Rylee and Brady were juniors at the school.

Here is the letter Pulvino sent to the school community:

**Dear FCSD Community:**

I regret that I have more sad news to share with our school community.

Despite a valiant effort, our student who was severely injured in the motor vehicle accident last Sunday succumbed to his injuries and died earlier today.

Our crisis response team will be available for students and staff at G. Ray Bodley High School throughout the day tomorrow, and in the days ahead.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if any student, staff, or community member needs individual support as we grieve this tremendous loss.

We appreciate your ongoing kindness and support. We extend our deepest condolences to the families, loved ones, and friends of all involved.

Sincerely,

**Brian T. Pulvino**
Superintendent
