Alisseaha Golar-Kotlar Obituary: Alisseaha Golar-Kotlar Cause of Death: Alisseaha Golar-Kotlar Dies After Shooting At Vaughan Mills Parking Lot

Police have identified a 21-year-old woman from Hamilton as the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday evening in the parking lot at Vaughan Mills. Two men from the Greater Toronto Area are now in custody in connection with the incident.

Officers responded to the busy shopping center north of Toronto just before 5:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting.

Paramedics found the woman in the parking lot with a gunshot wound and transported her to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

Early Wednesday, police confirmed that she had succumbed to her injuries. She has been identified as 21-year-old Alisseaha Golar-Kotlar.

Authorities indicated that an interaction led to the shooting, but the exact circumstances remain unclear.

"The relationships between the two accused and the victim are not known at this time, but we do believe that they are known to each other," Const. Kevin Nebrija said to reporters on Wednesday.

"We believe this incident is targeted and that there is no threat to public safety. There are no outstanding suspects or vehicles."

Two Brampton men have been charged in connection with the murder. Courtney-Ashton Brooks, 23, faces a charge of first-degree murder, while Donte Morris Taylor, 22, is charged with accessory after the fact to murder. Police also mentioned that the woman's car was taken, but the motive behind the shooting is still unclear.

The shooting occurred during the early evening as many shoppers were at the busy Toronto-area outlet mall.

One woman told CP24 on Tuesday that she saw a woman lying unconscious on the ground and then heard emergency vehicle sirens approaching the scene.

"It's scary to know that that happened in broad daylight and in the shopping mall parking lot," she said.

By early Wednesday, yellow police tape still cordoned off a section of the mall's parking lot as the investigation continued.

"We encourage anyone who may have dashcam footage from the parking lot of Vaughan Mills or who may have seen anything to please reach out to homicide," Nebrija said.
