Broden Radomske Obituary : Lorne Akins Junior HS Student Broden Radomske Fatally Attacked While Walking Dog With Mom In North Edmonton

The tranquility of a routine evening stroll turned into a nightmare for a St. Albert family as tragedy struck in the heart of north Edmonton on Tuesday night. A 15-year-old boy, accompanied by his mother and their faithful pitbull, met a shocking end when a man they were familiar with from the neighborhood fatally stabbed him in the neck, leaving his grieving mother to recount the harrowing ordeal.

Responding swiftly to the distressing scene near 137 Avenue and 184 Street around 9:30 p.m., law enforcement officers discovered the teen boy gravely injured, his life hanging in the balance. Despite the valiant efforts of both police and paramedics to resuscitate him, the young victim succumbed to his injuries before homicide investigators were summoned to commence their inquiries.

The devastated mother, present at the scene the following afternoon, revealed that the duo had been on their customary evening walk when tragedy struck. They shared a familiar acquaintance with the assailant, whom she believes was propelled by a mental breakdown to commit the heinous act. Tragically, the son was walking just behind her when the fatal assault transpired, forever altering the fabric of their lives.

The somber news reverberated beyond the confines of the grieving family, reaching the corridors of Lorne Akins Junior High School, where the boy, identified as Broden Radomske, was a Grade 9 student. St. Albert Public Schools mourned the loss, extending heartfelt condolences to Broden's family, friends, classmates, and educators, while honoring his memory by lowering flags in solemn tribute.

As the community grapples with the enormity of the loss, authorities have scheduled an autopsy for Friday to glean further insights into the tragic events of that fateful evening. This sorrowful incident evokes haunting memories of a similar tragedy from the preceding year, where a mother and child fell victim to a random stabbing attack outside Edmonton's Crawford Plains School. The assailant in that case, Muorater Mashar, met his demise in a confrontation with law enforcement days after the horrific incident, leaving scars of grief and disbelief in its wake.
