Maria Cruz, a 72-year-old resident of Reedley, tragically lost her life in a pedestrian accident on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred at around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Springfield and Justine Avenues, as reported by the Fresno Police Department.
Cruz, who was using her walker to cross the street, was struck by a car. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment, as confirmed by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Further details regarding the accident have not been disclosed at this time.
