David Elrod Obituary, Death: Mt. Juliet Tennessee, Former Football Player Has Suddenly Passed Away

David Elrod, a cherished member of the Mt. Juliet, Tennessee community, passed away on January 13, 2025, at the age of 60. As the son of esteemed high school football coach Wes Elrod, David's life was deeply intertwined with the world of football and community service.

During his high school years, David emerged as a standout wide receiver for the Mt. Juliet Golden Bears. 

One of his most memorable contributions was a pivotal 28-yard touchdown reception that led to an upset victory over Father Ryan High School in the inaugural Whites Creek Bowl in 1981. 

 This moment not only highlighted his athletic prowess but also became a celebrated chapter in Mt. Juliet's sports history.

Following his athletic career, David channeled his passion for sports into entrepreneurship by establishing Extra Point Sports in Old Hickory, Tennessee. 

 Through this venture, he provided quality sporting goods and fostered a sense of camaraderie among local athletes and enthusiasts.

David's legacy is profoundly marked by the values of dedication, teamwork, and perseverance—principles he embraced both on and off the field. 

His commitment to excellence and his genuine care for others left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
