An accident that occurred on Monday evening on the campus of Florida State University resulted in the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle.
The collision took place close to the intersection of Lorene Street and Pensacola Street at approximately 6:40 p.m. with the pedestrian. "The pedestrian, an adult female, was struck by a vehicle and died as a result of her injuries."
People who commented on a Facebook page that was created for the parents of Florida State University students reported that their children had seen the collision and described it as a hit-and-run. It was not immediately known whether the victim was a student at Florida State University.
In response to a text message, a watch commander who was contacted for comment referred inquiries to a TPD representative, who did not immediately respond to the message. It has been determined that the student in question is Ellie Sims.
During the investigation being conducted by the police, Pensacola Street is closed from Woodward Avenue to Gray Street. The area should be avoided by motorists at all costs.
