Susan L. Morrow, aged 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Atrium Medical Center. Born on January 7, 1941, in Middletown, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of Doug and June (Herman) Boxwell, both of whom predeceased her.
Susan's early years were marked by a profound love for music, which shaped her life's journey. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1959, where she was known for her musical talent. Pursuing her passion further, she attended the Indiana University Conservatory of Music.
Her remarkable abilities on the piano and organ were evident from a young age, as she served as the assistant organist at the First United Methodist Church in Middletown during her teenage years.
In 1964, Susan, along with her husband Paul, founded the Morrow Piano & Organ Company in Greensboro, NC. This venture was a testament to their shared love for music and their dedication to bringing the joy of music to others.
While residing in Greensboro, Susan was an active member of the Christian Women's Club, where she formed lasting friendships and contributed to her community through her musical talents.
After retiring in 1988, Susan and Paul returned to Ohio in 2000, choosing to settle at the Otterbein Lebanon SeniorLife Community. Here, they immersed themselves in the community's vibrant musical life, participating in numerous music groups and events. Susan's commitment to music continued to flourish, bringing joy to many in the community.
Susan's adventurous spirit was evident in her love for travel. She and Paul explored the United States extensively in their motor home, creating countless memories along the way. Their travels later expanded internationally, taking them to India, Africa, and the Holy Land, enriching their lives with diverse cultural experiences.
Susan's family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her son, David (Lynne) Morrow; daughter, Mary (Chris) Brower; granddaughter, Beth (Andrew) Strickenburg; and great-grandson, David Strickenburg. Her beloved husband of 60 years, Paul E. Morrow, predeceased her, leaving a lasting legacy of love and companionship.
A private graveside service will be held by the family at North Grove Cemetery in Celina, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Otterbein Lebanon Community Methodist Church or Otterbein, ensuring Susan's legacy of generosity and community spirit continues to thrive.
Susan L. Morrow will be remembered for her unwavering love of music, her adventurous spirit, and her deep devotion to her family and community. Her life was a symphony of kindness, passion, and joy, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
