Solomon Lonner Lakewood Obituary - Solomon Lonner Dead - Solomon Lonner Stabbed to Death in Hamilton Township - Mays Landing Man Michael Carney Arrested

A Mays Landing man has been charged with stabbing his landlord to death, authorities said.

Michael Carney, 39, was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder and weapons offenses, according to a news release from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Multiple 911 callers reported a stabbing at 798 Park Road shortly before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Responding officers found Solomon Lonner, 49, of Lakewood, inside the home with multiple stab wounds. 

Despite efforts to save him, Lonner was later pronounced dead at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. An autopsy is pending.

Carney was arrested at the scene after police identified him as the suspect in the stabbing. Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the attack.
