Obituary, Death: Debra Jean Bell Eden Death - Beloved Caribou High School Graduate Debra Jean Bell Passed away At 68

Debra Jean Bell, 68, of Eden, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, at her son Jason's home. Her passing marks the end of a life filled with creativity, compassion, and a deep love for nature and family.

Born on August 15, 1955, Debra was the beloved daughter of the late William and Marjorie Bell. She grew up in Caribou, Maine, where she graduated from Caribou High School. Debra’s early years in Maine cultivated her love for the outdoors and farm life, which remained with her throughout her life.


Debra recently retired from Cato Gas & Oil, Inc., where she dedicated 35 years of service. Her colleagues remember her as a diligent and hardworking employee, always willing to go the extra mile to help others. Her work ethic and dedication were exemplary, earning her respect and admiration from everyone she worked with.

Debra was known for her vivid imagination and creative spirit. She had a passion for fantasy, dragons, and faeries, which she often expressed through her hobbies. Debra loved working with her hands, whether it was tending to her flower garden, crocheting beautiful pieces, or meticulously building intricate dollhouses. Her artistic endeavors brought joy to her life and to those around her.

Nature and animals held a special place in Debra’s heart. She was a farm girl at heart, finding peace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life. Her compassionate nature was evident in her actions, always ready to lend a hand or offer support to those in need. Her love for her family and pets was unwavering, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Debra is survived by her two sons, Jason Plaskon and Richard Plaskon, both of Salisbury; her beloved grandson, Hunter Plaskon, also of Salisbury; and her two sisters, Tonya Ossenfort and Kim Bell, both residing in Maine. She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Bell, and her cherished dogter, Widget "Widgy Woo" Plaskon, who held a special place in her heart.

A Memorial Service to honor Debra’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the funeral home, providing an opportunity for friends and family to pay their respects and share their memories.
