Jordan Elizabeth Oswinkle, born on September 26, 1993, in Towson, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 15, 2024, at her residence in New York City, New York. She was 30 years old.


Jordan's life was a vibrant tapestry of creativity, compassion, and dedication. Growing up in Towson, she demonstrated a passion for the arts from a young age, often seen with a sketchbook in hand or experimenting with new painting techniques. 

Her family fondly recalls her insatiable curiosity and her ability to find beauty in the mundane, a trait that defined much of her artistic journey.

After graduating from high school, Jordan pursued her passion for the arts at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration. 

Her time at MICA was marked by numerous accolades and exhibitions, showcasing her distinctive style and vision. Her professors and peers admired her for her unique ability to blend traditional techniques with contemporary themes, often drawing inspiration from nature and personal experiences.

Upon graduating, Jordan moved to New York City, where she quickly made a name for herself in the bustling art scene. She worked as a freelance illustrator, collaborating with various publications, galleries, and private collectors. 

Her work was featured in several prominent art magazines and exhibited in well-known galleries across the city. 

Despite the competitive nature of the industry, Jordan's authenticity and talent set her apart, earning her a loyal following of admirers and clients.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jordan was known for her warm heart and generous spirit. 

She volunteered regularly at local community centers, teaching art classes to underprivileged children and hosting workshops to promote mental health through creative expression.

Jordan's sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew her. She is survived by her parents, James and Elizabeth Oswinkle, her younger brother, Andrew, and a close-knit circle of friends who cherished her like family.
