Grand Valley State University Alumnus Jennifer Palm of Grand Rapids, Michigan has died. Born on November 4, 1981, Jenn Wildey was the cherished daughter of Janet E. Irwin and the late Barry J. Wildey. Her life was a rich tapestry of family, love, education, and community service, marked by her dedication to both personal and professional growth.
Jenn’s academic journey began at Wyoming Park High School, where her dedication and intellect earned her the title of salutatorian. Her love for learning and teaching was evident early on and became a defining aspect of her life. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to Grand Valley State University, where she obtained a master’s degree in communications.
At Grand Valley State University, Jenn’s career flourished over 18 years, reflecting her deep commitment to education and her role as a mentor. She was most recently involved with the Undergraduate Nursing Program, where her contributions were instrumental in shaping the academic experiences of countless students. Her work was not just a job but a calling, driven by her passion for nurturing others and fostering an environment of growth and learning.
Jenn’s influence extended beyond her professional life. Her family and community were central to her being. Known for her warmth and generosity, Jenn had a remarkable ability to bring people together. Her love for her family, coupled with her commitment to community service, highlighted her nurturing spirit and desire to make a positive impact on those around her.
Her role as a daughter, sister, and friend was marked by deep affection and unwavering support. Jenn’s life was a testament to the values of kindness, compassion, and dedication. She was not only a guiding light in her professional sphere but also a source of strength and joy for her loved ones.
Jenn Wildey’s legacy was one of profound impact, characterized by her devotion to education, her nurturing spirit, and her commitment to bringing people together. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Barry; grandparents, Iris Wildey, Marcia and Gerald Wildey, and Robert Irwin. Jenn's memory will be honored by her beloved husband, James; her son, Jackson; grandmother, Janet B. Irwin; mother, Janet E. Irwin (Tom Hoseth); brother, Jordan Wildey; aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephew, and community friends. A service to celebrate Jenn's life will be held at 2 PM, on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI, 49508, where a visitation will be held prior from 1 to 2 pm, with Rev. Mary Spalding as celebrant.
