Amare Witham Death - Amare Witham Springfield MO Obituary - Glendale Basketball Star Amare Witham Died By Suicide

Amare Witham, a Glendale basketball star known for his confident attitude and immense potential, has tragically died by suicide.

Witham was preparing to enter his junior year with the Falcons and had already made a significant mark in the southwest Missouri sports scene.

His remarkable scoring ability had earned him multiple Division I offers, showcasing his talent and promise in the sport.

Sources close to the matter confirmed Witham's passing to the News-Leader, and Springfield Public Schools announced they were providing counseling services to support the school community and its athletes during this difficult time.

Glendale head coach Brian McTague once remarked that Witham was the most confident athlete he had ever coached.

This confidence was evident not only in Witham's on-court performance but also in his interactions with classmates in the hallways.

His presence was felt deeply both on and off the court, and he was respected and admired by those who knew him. Last season, Witham averaged an impressive 24.4 points per game for the Falcons.

His ability to excite crowds was undeniable, particularly during high-stakes games at the Great Southern Bank Arena in both the Blue and Gold Tournament and the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions.

One of his most memorable performances came when he knocked down seven 3-pointers in a single quarter, leading to a total of 37 points in a victory over Strafford.

This feat not only highlighted his scoring prowess but also his ability to perform under pressure and energize his team and fans.

Witham's death is a profound loss to the Glendale community and the wider sports world. He was more than just a talented athlete; he was a young man with a bright future, a confident demeanor, and a role model to many.

His passing serves as a somber reminder of the importance of mental health and the unseen struggles that individuals may face.

As the community mourns, it also remembers the vibrant spirit and incredible talent that Amare Witham brought to every game, practice, and interaction.

His legacy will continue to inspire and remind us of the critical need for compassion and support in the lives of young athletes.
