A girl who has gone missing is the subject of an increased search by the Monterey Park Police Department, which is also making a request to the general public for information.
Alison Chao, who is 15 years old, was the subject of a missing person inquiry that was initiated by the department on July 16 at roughly 9:30 for the evening.
The individual known as Chao is a woman of Asian descent who is described as having brown eyes and black hair, standing approximately 5 feet and 2 inches tall, and weighing 96 pounds.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., Chao departed from her apartment, which was located in the 200 block of North Ynez Avenue in Monterey Park. After approximately one hour, she was spotted on video on the 4400 block of Collis Avenue in the El Sereno neighborhood of Los Angeles where she was located.
The last time anyone saw Chao, he was dressed in a dark pair of shoes, black shorts, and a purple T-shirt. She was supposed to go to the residence of a member of her family in San Gabriel, but she never showed there. She had a black bookbag in her hand and was riding a mountain bike that was blue in color.
Since Chao went missing, the Monterey Park Police Department has been conducting a thorough investigation into the case, working in conjunction with other agencies from the surrounding area, the county, the state, and the federal government.
During the course of their investigation, they are examining surveillance footage in close collaboration with the Chao family and the community at large in the hopes of discovering important evidence.
For the purpose of assisting with the search efforts, a specialized website known as alisonchao.com has been established. The website provides regular updates and contains a form that allows users to report any sightings of Chao.
The form requires users to provide information about the date, time, location, and any extra information or screenshots that they may have. In addition, there is a "urgent" part on the website that includes a map, and it encourages residents to study the recordings that their camera systems have made in the regions that are marked.
"Thank you to the community for your unwavering support and assistance in our efforts to find Alison," the announcement on the website states. "We are still looking for someone. In order to assist the authorities in their efforts, we will continue to supply them with any and all information that we obtain, as we have been doing.
In addition, there is an Instagram profile of Chao called @helpfindalison, which contains a large number of photographs and updates.
"With all of our hearts, we extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible community," which was said in the post on Instagram. "Your unwavering support and willingness to volunteer in the search party means the world to us."
In addition, the Chao family coordinated the efforts of two separate search groups in compliance with the Monterey Park Police Department.
The department requests that anybody who may have seen Chao or who is aware of her location contact them at the following number: 626-573-1311.
During the previous week in Florida, the body of a missing autistic boy who was three years old was recovered from the retention pond of an Orlando resort on Thursday. This occurred after a significant search for the child.
