It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vincent Michael Bray, age 38, on May 30, 2024, in Sullivan, Missouri. Vincent, known to many as Vince, was born on August 6, 1985, in St. Louis, Missouri. He later moved to Sullivan, where he attended the Sullivan School District and made lasting connections.
In 2004, Vince’s heart led him to Nicole Rowen, and the two were united in marriage on October 28, 2006. Together, they were blessed with three wonderful children: Antwaun, Autumn, and Allison. The family made their home in Sullivan, where they nurtured and cherished each other.
Vince's dedication to his loved ones was evident in his unwavering work ethic. Throughout his time in Sullivan, Vince contributed to various businesses, including Gateway, Aerofil, and ADB.
In 2011, he sought new opportunities and moved to Hoxie, Kansas, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Foote Cattle Company. He returned to Sullivan in 2017, continuing his craft with Gateway and later joining IBEW Local 2 and Local 513.
Vince had a deep love for fishing, playing cornhole, and enjoying the natural beauty of Missouri’s landscapes. His favorite moments were often spent by the Meramec River or exploring nature with his family. An artist at heart, Vince had the talent to draw anything his imagination conjured.
He was known for his creativity, humor, and selflessness. Vince had a unique ability to form instant connections with anyone he met, often sharing his infectious humor and generosity.
He was a steadfast provider, a generous spirit, and a genuinely caring soul. Vince leaves behind a legacy of love and unforgettable memories for all who were blessed to know him.
Vincent is survived by his loving wife, Nicole of Sullivan; his children: Antwaun, Autumn, and Allison Bray, all of Sullivan; his mother, Debra Bray of Sullivan; his father, Lawrence Bray, Sr., of Sullivan; his brothers:
Lawrence Bray Jr., and wife Shakara of Bourbon, Jonathon Volkert, Kristopher Bray, and Kevin Umfress and wife Jessi, all of Sullivan; his sister, Aylicia Mickow of Sullivan; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his Aunt Rita Norris, and his Uncle John Volkert III.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 4-8 PM at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. All who knew Vince are invited to join in remembering and honoring a man who touched so many lives with his kindness and warmth.
