We grieve with the members of Hillsborough United Methodist Church whose pastor, Rev. Tanner White, age 36, died unexpectedly yesterday. Tanner, a resident of Tampa, FL, was also a former associate pastor at First United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg, FL.
Our hearts are heavy as we mourn with his beloved wife, Mallory, and their two young daughters, as well as his extended family, friends, and all who are hurting during this difficult time.
Rev. Tanner White was a dedicated pastor and a cherished member of both the Hillsborough and St. Petersburg communities. His sudden passing in a tragic accident on Monday has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Tanner's commitment to his faith and his congregation was evident in his daily life, and his loss is deeply felt by many. Mallory, his devoted wife, now faces the immense challenge of raising their two young children without Tanner by her side.
Their hearts, along with those of Tanner's mother, father, extended family, friends, and his covenant clergy brothers, are shattered by this unexpected tragedy. The church community, where Tanner's presence was a source of inspiration and guidance, is in shock and mourning.
As we come together to support one another, we remember Tanner not only for his pastoral duties but also for his kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to his faith and family. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the love he shared with his congregation and loved ones.
We extend our deepest condolences to Mallory, their children, and all of Tanner's family and friends. We pray for strength and comfort for everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss. The Hillsborough United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church of St. Petersburg, and the broader community will continue to hold Tanner's memory close, cherishing the impact he had on all our lives.
