Roy Lamb, 79, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, and a native of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, at his home. Born on April 5, 1945, in Crab Orchard, he was the son of the late James and Ella Portwood Lamb.
Roy was a successful businessman, founding R. Lamb Trucking Company in 1980 and also owning Bluegrass Commercial Properties. Known for his generosity, Roy cherished his family and friends deeply, never meeting a stranger and bringing joy and laughter to those around him.
Roy is survived by his loving family:
- Sons: Mark Lamb and his wife, Stephanie; Tim Lamb and his wife, Chrissy.
- Grandchildren: Kyle Lamb and his wife, Camryn; Morgan Savage and her husband, Zack; Braxton Lamb and his wife, Kenzie; Mylee Lamb; Jacob Lamb and his wife, Caitie; Paige Richards and her husband, Jacob; and Hannah Little and her husband, Cody.
- Great-grandchildren: Adelyn, Cooper, Raiden, Liam, and Tate.
- Brother: Curt Lamb and his wife, Tammy.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by two stillborn granddaughters, Jordan and Jessica Lamb; five sisters, Alice Wren, Mildred Johnson, Edna May Shelton, Lilly Lamb, and Johnetta Irvin; and two brothers, Ed Lamb and James Lamb.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024, at Betts and West Funeral Home, located at 404 N. Main Street, Nicholasville, Kentucky 40356. The services will be officiated by Bro. Bruce Alcorn and Bro. Billy Bryant. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, Kentucky.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, at Betts and West Funeral Home in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
Pallbearers for the service will be Kyle Lamb, Braxton Lamb, Jake Lamb, Tim Proffitt, Robbie Lamb, and Jimmy Lamb. Honorary pallbearers include Morgan Savage, Mylee Lamb, Paige Richards, and Hannah Little.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Cops & Kids Program. Contributions in memory of Roy Lamb can be mailed to P.O. Box 564, Nicholasville, Kentucky 40356.
Roy Lamb's life was marked by his love for his family and community, and his legacy of kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him.
