Born in 1979, Richard's love for hockey began at a young age. His journey in the sport was marked by his unwavering commitment, resilience, and a profound understanding of the game. His career as a coach started at Carleton University, where he served as an assistant coach non-consecutively from 2001 to 2016. 

During his tenure at Carleton, Bue's expertise and leadership were instrumental in shaping the team's strategy and mentoring young athletes, many of whom went on to have successful careers both on and off the ice.

Richard’s coaching career took a significant step forward when he joined the Manitoba Moose as a video coach in 2016. Over the next six years, Bue brought a meticulous and analytical approach to his role, earning respect and admiration from players and colleagues alike.
