Lewis Lechtenberg, age 7, of Decorah, IA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at his home outside of Decorah.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 8, 2024, at Decorah Lutheran Church, 309 Winnebago Street, Decorah, IA, with Rev. Peter Kowitz presiding. Following the service, there will be a reception and celebration of Lewis’ life at Pinters Event Center, 2475 IA-9, west of Decorah.
A visitation will be held from 1 – 6 P.M., Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Decorah Lutheran Church, 309 Winnebago Street, Decorah, IA. There will be no visitation prior to the service on Monday morning. Attendees are asked to please come in and be seated promptly.
The family kindly requests that flowers not be sent. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be given to the family. A scholarship will be established in memory of Lewis to honor his legacy and support future generations.
Lewis was a bright and joyful child who touched the lives of everyone he met with his infectious smile and boundless energy.
He loved playing outdoors, especially at his family's farm, where he spent countless hours exploring and making memories. He was known for his curiosity, creativity, and the kindness he showed to everyone around him.
Lewis is survived by his loving parents, siblings, grandparents, and numerous other family members and friends who cherished him deeply. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the support and love shown by the community during this difficult time.
