𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘: Junior Nunez Paterson NJ Missing : New Jersey Amber Alert Canceled, Zander Abad Found Safe

An intense overnight manhunt concluded with the arrest of Junior Nunez, a 33-year-old ex-convict from Paterson, NJ, after authorities reported that he abducted his ex-girlfriend and her 2-year-old son at gunpoint.

The arrest took place near Public School No. 28 at the intersection of Presidential Boulevard and Temple Street shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Friday.

Both the woman and the toddler were found unharmed, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi.

Nunez, who has a history of violent criminal behavior, allegedly carjacked the 34-year-old woman in a black 2012 Acura MDX around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday in the vicinity of Piercy and Holsman streets.

This incident is part of a troubling pattern of violence and criminal activity by Nunez over the past decade. Notably, he has previously made headlines for breaking into the same ex-girlfriend's apartment in Hackensack and assaulting her twice within a 19-hour span.

During one such incident, a Hackensack police captain reported that Nunez had "put both hands around her neck, squeezed, and let go only to punch her several times in the stomach."

This time, Nunez faces severe charges, including kidnapping, child endangerment, and multiple weapons offenses, such as possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

The swift resolution of this case highlights the effective coordination between local law enforcement agencies and the dedication to ensuring the safety of the victims.

The incident underscores the ongoing issue of domestic violence and the need for vigilance in protecting those at risk. Nunez's apprehension brings some measure of relief to the community, but it also serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers posed by repeat offenders.

As the legal process unfolds, it is hoped that justice will be served, providing some measure of closure and safety for the victims and their loved ones.
