It is with deep sadness and immense grief that we announce the sudden passing of Geri, a cherished soul who touched the lives of many.
Her loss is deeply felt by Celina, Grant, Devin, the Plecas Family, and numerous relatives, friends, students, and colleagues who were profoundly touched by Geri's energetic and loving spirit.
Geri's life was a testament to her dedication and passion for making a difference. Her impactful work in the recovery community and her contributions to the SikSika First Nation community resonated deeply with those she served. As a Professor at North Island College, Geri inspired countless students with her wisdom, compassion, and unwavering support.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Geri will forever cherish the memories they shared with her. Her laughter, warmth, and genuine care for others left an enduring mark on everyone she encountered.
Whether in her professional endeavors or personal interactions, Geri approached life with boundless enthusiasm and a deep commitment to helping others.
At this time of profound loss, we find solace in the memories of Geri's remarkable life and the positive impact she had on so many. Though no celebration of life has been planned as yet, the void left by her absence serves as a reminder of the profound influence she had on her community and beyond.
Geri leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be dearly missed by her granddaughter, Aurelia; daughters Jen and Suzi; mother Kathy; father Garry (Diane); sister, Keri; nephews Noah, Samuel (Laura), Kylen (Abby); great-grandmother Phyllis; brothers Dan and Shayne; and niece Lorraine.
