It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Bradley, a cherished resident of Dubuque, Iowa. Brian left us unexpectedly on June 14, 2024, at the age of 54. His sudden departure has left a void that will be felt deeply by his family, friends, and the entire community.
Born on March 22, 1970, in Dubuque, Brian was the beloved son of Charles and Margaret Bradley. From a young age, he exhibited a zest for life and a curiosity that led him to explore a variety of interests.
He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1988, where he was known for his athletic prowess on the soccer field and his dedication to his studies. His natural leadership skills shone through, and he was respected by peers and teachers alike.
After high school, Brian pursued higher education at the University of Iowa, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. His time at university was marked by academic excellence and the formation of lifelong friendships.
It was also where he met his future wife, Jennifer Miller. The two were inseparable and shared a love that was evident to all who knew them. They married on June 25, 1994, and together they built a beautiful life in Dubuque.
Brian’s professional career was spent in the field of finance, where he worked as a financial advisor. His clients trusted him implicitly, not just for his financial acumen but also for his integrity and commitment to their well-being. Brian’s colleagues admired his work ethic and the genuine care he extended to everyone he worked with.
Outside of his professional life, Brian was a dedicated family man. He and Jennifer were blessed with three children: Emily, Matthew, and Sarah. Brian was a hands-on father, deeply involved in his children's lives. He coached soccer teams, attended school events, and was always there to offer support and guidance. His family was his pride and joy, and he made sure to create lasting memories with them through family vacations, camping trips, and weekend adventures.
Brian had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, and spending time on the Mississippi River. He was an active member of the local community, participating in various charitable events and volunteer activities. His kindness and generosity touched many lives, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Those who knew Brian will remember his infectious smile, his sense of humor, and his unwavering optimism. He had a remarkable ability to make others feel valued and appreciated. His presence was a source of comfort and joy, and he had a knack for bringing people together.
Brian is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer; their three children, Emily, Matthew, and Sarah; his parents, Charles and Margaret Bradley; his sister, Karen Thompson, and her husband, David; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He also leaves behind a wide circle of friends who will miss him dearly.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held on June 20, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dubuque, with a visitation starting at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Dubuque Humane Society, an organization Brian passionately supported.
Brian Bradley's legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will be a beacon of light, guiding and inspiring us to live with the same generosity and joy that he embodied.
