A devastating accident on Sunday afternoon resulted in the death of Aaron Matthew Lilley, a 20-year-old resident of Schaumburg. The collision occurred at the intersection of Schaumburg and Town Square roads at approximately 2:15 p.m. Authorities have confirmed that Lilley, who was riding his motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
According to Schaumburg police, Lilley was traveling eastbound on Schaumburg Road when his motorcycle collided with the driver’s side of a Subaru that was heading northbound from Town Square Road. The impact of the crash was severe, and despite wearing a helmet, Lilley succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the Subaru, a 69-year-old man from Elgin, was injured and subsequently transported to Ascension Saint Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. Medical staff at the facility reported that his injuries, although serious, are not life-threatening. A passenger in the Subaru also sustained minor injuries but was treated at the scene and did not require further medical attention.
Witnesses at the scene described the chaotic aftermath, with emergency services working swiftly to provide aid and secure the area. Police have stated that their preliminary investigation suggests that Lilley was riding between lanes of traffic on Schaumburg Road when he struck the side of the Subaru.
