3 injured at Katy Mills Mall in Houston, Texas Shooting, Police Say

A shooting occurred at Katy Mills Mall in Houston, Texas, on the evening of June 5, 2024, involving a group of juveniles. The incident, which appears to have started as an altercation between two groups of teenagers, resulted in three people being injured.


The victims, aged between 14 and 17, were taken to the hospital. One of the injured teens was in critical condition initially but has since been stabilized.

The shooting happened around 9:15 p.m. near Entrance 5 of the mall. One of the injured teens ran into the Bass Pro Shop inside the mall, causing a brief evacuation as police responded to the scene. Six juveniles were detained in connection with the incident. The vehicle used in the shooting was reported stolen from Harris County.

The Katy Police Department, with assistance from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and other local agencies, is continuing to investigate the motive behind the shooting.
