Robert Klein Mc Donald PA Obituary : Robert Klein Death : Motorcyclist Killed In Washington County Accident

Tragedy struck on Tuesday morning in Washington County when a motorcyclist lost their life in a collision involving a garbage truck. The incident occurred on McClelland Road near the Kings on Route 19 in North Strabane Township, witnessed by several bystanders who promptly alerted emergency services shortly before 9 a.m. The victim, identified as 58-year-old Robert Klein, tragically passed away to his injuries.

The coroner's report revealed that Klein was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, underscoring the critical importance of motorcycle safety gear. Pennsylvania State Police, in conjunction with North Strabane Township police, have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision, seeking to unravel the sequence of events leading to the fatal outcome.

This unfortunate incident marks the third deadly motorcycle crash in the Pittsburgh area over the recent weekend. On Sunday, a collision between a motorcycle and a minivan in North Versailles claimed the life of 23-year-old Benjamin Petkovsek of Monroeville near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Westinghouse Avenue around 4 p.m.

Subsequently, another tragic incident unfolded in North Versailles just after 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 30 and Clyde Avenue, involving a motorcycle and a van. In this instance, 27-year-old Darien Clark of Beaver Falls was hospitalized but succumbed to his injuries.

As the community grapples with the devastating loss of life, May serves as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, drawing attention to the importance of safe practices on the road. In support of this initiative, PennDOT offers free driver safety courses tailored specifically for motorcyclists, aiming to equip riders with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate roads safely and responsibly. These efforts underscore the collective commitment to fostering a culture of safety and vigilance among all road users.
