Medusa Beach Club Mallorca Accident : Four killed and 16 injured after restaurant collapse on Majorca beach

Four individuals have lost their lives, and 16 others have sustained injuries following the collapse of a building on a beach in Majorca, with some individuals still trapped inside.


The incident occurred around 8:30 PM local time, when the roof of the two-story Medusa Beach Club in Palma gave way. Palma, being Majorca's capital, is a renowned tourist destination.

Firefighters were observed rescuing individuals from the rubble, some requiring stretchers and immediate medical attention as ambulances awaited outside. Footage circulating on social media depicts crowds gathered near the site as emergency responders navigate through the debris.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez assured close monitoring of the situation, pledging governmental readiness to deploy necessary resources. He conveyed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. Marga Prohens, President of the Balearic Islands, expressed shock at the collapse and extended heartfelt sympathies to the affected families while hoping for the full recovery of those injured.

The UK's Foreign Office acknowledged the incident, stating there were no reports of British nationals involved at the moment.
