Lake Eufaula Boat Accident : Charles Gustafson Indianola OK Obituary : Christianson Adams of McAlester Injured In Boat Wreck

A tragic boat accident occurred on Sunday at 11:37 p.m. near Number 9 marina in the Longtown area of Lake Eufaula, Pittsburg County, resulting in the death of a 25-year-old man from Indianola. Charles Gustafson, a passenger in the 2019 JBC Express 24-foot open boat, was pronounced dead at the scene.


The boat, driven by 25-year-old Michael Reagan of Eufaula, was traveling southbound when it crossed under the Number 9 bridge, ran aground on the west bank, struck several trees, and ejected two passengers.

Michael Reagan was airlifted to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa by Air Evac and is currently listed in fair condition with external trunk and head injuries. Another passenger, 23-year-old Christianson Adams of McAlester, suffered a head injury and was treated and released from McAlester Regional Health Center.

The accident report indicated the presence of alcohol on the driver, and it was noted that no personal flotation devices were in use at the time of the incident. The investigation is being carried out by Troopers Thomas Giulioli, Ty Wallace, and Cody Enloe, with additional assistance from the Number 9 Fire Department, Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office, and the Choctaw Lighthorse Police Department.
