Friends and family grieve Destiny Hamilton (@natalyaandthecity), a 27-year-old Bahamian-American influencer from Grand Bahamas, was reported missing in Abaco on suspicion of suicide.
The relative of Natalya Hamilton reflects on the legacy and life of Destiny. Friends and family of the victims pray that the authorities conduct a comprehensive investigation because they cannot believe their loved one committed suicide.
At approximately 9:00 am on Thursday, May 9th, 2024, the Marsh Harbor Police Station was notified of a suicide incident that had taken place on Guanna Cay, Abaco. Consequently, law enforcement officers initiated an investigation into the matter.
Officers arrived at the scene of a two-story structure with yellow and white trim at 10:00 a.m. on the same date. Upon arrival, they were directed to a North Eastern restroom located on the second floor.
A woman with brown skin and a black dress was discovered in the shower stall of that restroom, submerged in a pool of blood. A black and silver culinary knife was observed to be resting in her right hand.
Upon conducting a body search, officers identified a severe laceration on her wrist. Her spouse disclosed that on May 8, 2024, between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm, he and his wife, Destiny Hamilton, born October 1, 1996, a New York-based Bahamian national with whom he has been estranged for approximately a year, had an altercation.
Hamilton resides in New York. It pertained to their romantic involvement and her discovery of contraceptives in one of his bags. He claimed that he left her and spent the night at a residence alone in Bakers Bay because she occasionally became violent, assaulted him, and threatened to brandish a dagger at him, prompting him to flee for his life.
He returned to his residence at approximately 8:30 a.m. on March 9, 2024, in response to a college acquaintance of Destiny's named Melannie, whom he had met the day before, inquiring about their well-being. He informed her that he was not involved with Destiny.
He inspected the dwelling in her behalf. However, the upstairs lavatory door was locked when he checked, so he forced entry with a crowbar. He discovered his wife face down and covered in blood on the shower floor.
Although he examined her body, it was icy. His associate Herbert Collins, who also maintains the properties, was subsequently contacted and arrived at the residence shortly thereafter.
According to an acquaintance of Deatiny who extended an invitation to her to the Bahamas, the two attended college in Rome, Italy. She reported that her deceased friend (her friend) had arrived yesterday, May 8, 2024.
She reported that everything was running smoothly until approximately 7:00 p.m. on May 8, 2024, when Robert and Melannie engaged in a telephone dispute. Throughout this dispute, Destiny became belligerent and began tossing blades at Robert.
Then, he departed the dwelling. Then, Destiny would appear and vanish from her view. She last saw her at approximately 9:00 p.m. On March 9, 2024, in the morning, Sherime texted Robert due to her belief that they were in each other's company and that everything was well.
Robert communicated to her that he was absent and would check to see whether she was at home. She additionally disclosed that Robert discovered her unresponsive and hemorrhaging in the shower when he inspected the residence. Ongoing investigations continue.
