Wanda Kay Person Westbrook, 67, touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. 

Born on February 23, 1957, in Wayne County, she was the daughter of Henry Harold Person and Virginia McKeel Person. 

She shared her life with her husband, James E. “Sparky” Westbrook, Jr., for 21 years until his passing, and together they created a legacy of love and compassion.

Wanda dedicated 25 years of her life to serving others as the Director of Nursing at the Wayne County Health Department. 

Her commitment to her profession reflected her innate desire to help those in need. Whether it was providing medical care or lending a listening ear, Wanda's impact extended far beyond the confines of her workplace.

Her devotion to her family and friends knew no bounds. Wanda was a pillar of strength and support for those closest to her, offering unwavering encouragement and friendship.

Her genuine concern for others earned her the title of being the best friend anyone could ask for.

Wanda's love extended to animals, especially her beloved pet Sammy, whom she showered with affection and care. 

Her compassionate nature was evident in the way she cared for all creatures, big and small.

In her leisure time, Wanda found solace in gardening and nurturing her beloved flowers. 

Her green thumb and passion for nature were a testament to her nurturing spirit and appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

On Thursday, April 18, 2024, friends and family gathered at Seymour Funeral Home to honor Wanda's life and celebrate the cherished memories they shared with her. 

Rev. Bill Rose led the service, guiding attendees through a heartfelt tribute to Wanda's legacy.

Wanda leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion, cherished by her daughters, Ginny Raper and Dani Jo Bryant, her stepchildren, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews. 

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Wayne County Animal Shelter, honoring Wanda's passion for animals and her commitment to their welfare. 

Though she may no longer be with us, Wanda's spirit of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives she touched.
