Leanna Farraj, 24, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was tragically killed in a single-vehicle crash on Stefko Boulevard in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Sunday.
The Northampton County Coroner, Zachary Lysek, confirmed on Monday evening that Farraj died from multiple blunt force injuries, ruling the manner of death as accidental.
The crash occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Stefko Boulevard and Bayard Street. Bethlehem Police Capt. Nicholas P. Lechman reported that the vehicle collided with utility poles.
Bystanders who witnessed the accident acted swiftly, removing Farraj from the car and attempting to administer first aid. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, Farraj was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.
Another occupant of the vehicle, whose identity has not been disclosed, was trapped inside the wreckage. Emergency responders had to extricate this individual, who sustained serious injuries.
The injured person was transported to a hospital and, as of Sunday evening, was expected to survive, according to Capt. Lechman.
The exact circumstances leading to the crash are still under investigation. Authorities have not yet determined or disclosed who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Coroner Lysek stated that no further details about the crash would be released at this time. Speed is suspected to have played a significant role in the accident.
