Willoughby Ohio Shooting - Teen dies after shooting near Willoughby Barrio, suspect arrested in Indiana: police

In Willoughby, Ohio, a tragic shooting claimed the life of a 17-year-old teenager from Madison on a Saturday night. 

The incident unfolded around 12:30 a.m. when authorities responded to reports of gunfire near 4066 Erie Street, close to Barrio Tacos. Witnesses reported hearing shots and discovering the victim, critically injured in an alleyway. 

Despite efforts from police and emergency responders to administer aid, the teenager succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Following swift investigative efforts, Willoughby Police identified a 23-year-old suspect from Painesville, Ohio, believed to be connected to the shooting. 

By 10 a.m. the same morning, Indiana State Police apprehended the suspect without issue on Interstate 90/80, suggesting he was attempting to flee the area. 

The exact relationship between the suspect and the victim, as well as the motive behind the shooting, remain under investigation by local authorities.
