BANGKOK (AP) — In a grim discovery, Thai police found the bodies of six individuals on Tuesday in a luxury hotel located in downtown Bangkok, sparking suspicions of poisoning. The bodies were located at the prestigious Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel, a well-known establishment in the heart of the city.

According to Thailand's Foreign Ministry, the deceased included two Vietnamese Americans and four Vietnamese nationals, though their identities were not disclosed.

Photos published by the Thai newspaper Matichon depict police officers conducting an investigation at the hotel, responding to a call from the hotel staff who discovered the bodies.

Five of the victims were found inside a hotel room, while the sixth body was located outside the room, hinting at a possible attempt to escape or seek help.

The news of the incident has sent shockwaves through the local and international community, given the hotel's reputation for luxury and safety. Authorities are now working diligently to determine the exact cause of death and whether foul play was involved. Initial reports suggest poisoning, but further forensic analysis is necessary to confirm this suspicion.

The hotel management has expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and has assured full cooperation with the police investigation. Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry has indicated that it will provide support to the families of the deceased and work closely with Vietnamese authorities to facilitate the repatriation of the bodies.
