Chelsea Jackson EMT Obituary - Chelsea Jackson Death - SC EMT and 1-year-old son Oliver drown in Caldwell County

On a tragic Saturday night in Caldwell County, a mother and her one-year-old son lost their lives in a heartbreaking drowning incident. The local rescue crews and EMS officials were alerted around 6:30 p.m. and promptly responded to the area of Brown Mountain Beach Road at the Wilson Creek Gorge, where the drowning was reported.


Upon arrival, North Carolina Wildlife officials found three individuals struggling in the water. The swift actions of the rescuers managed to save one of the victims, but unfortunately, the other two—Chelsea Jackson and her baby son, Oliver—were pulled from the water unconscious. Despite the immediate efforts of first responders to resuscitate them, both Chelsea and Oliver were pronounced dead at the scene.

The tragic news was confirmed by Chelsea Jackson's mother, who identified her daughter and grandson as the victims of this devastating accident. The loss has left the community in mourning, highlighting the dangers that can arise in natural bodies of water.
