Toby Golembiewski Monroe Obituary : Toby Golembiewski Death : Former Orangeville Head Coach Toby Golembiewski Died From Cancer

The Monroe, Wisconsin community mourns the loss of Toby Golembiewski, the beloved head coach of Monroe High School’s football team and former Orangeville head coach, who recently passed away from cancer. Golembiewski’s death is a profound loss to those who knew him, both on and off the field.

Golembiewski was a respected figure in the football community, having led the Monroe High School Cheesemakers to significant success during his eight-year tenure as varsity head coach.

Under his leadership, the team achieved an undefeated conference record and a 4-2 overall standing this season.

This success was a continuation of their remarkable journey from the previous year when they went undefeated and clinched the WIAA Football State Championship, their first since 1994.

Beyond his achievements on the field, Golembiewski was deeply committed to community involvement and raising awareness for breast cancer. This cause was personal to him, as his mother is a cancer survivor and his sister-in-law tragically lost her battle with the disease.

Golembiewski transformed the team’s October tradition of wearing pink into a meaningful fundraising initiative. His efforts raised $11,000 for the Justice For A Cure charity, significantly impacting the community and bringing greater awareness to the cause.

Despite his diagnosis with colon cancer shortly after the team's state championship, Golembiewski continued to coach, demonstrating remarkable resilience and dedication. He often spoke about how football gave him the energy and motivation to endure chemotherapy treatments.

Remarkably, he continued to participate in football clinics, even while receiving treatment. His story has inspired many, encouraging over 70 individuals to get timely health screenings, potentially saving lives through early detection.

Golembiewski’s impact extended far beyond his immediate circle. His leadership and mentorship influenced countless young athletes and fellow coaches.

He oversaw a program of 67 players, with a dedicated assistant coaching staff including Tom Witt, Shawn Paulson, Eric Losseneger, Gerry Herbst, Mike Figi, Ryan Paulson, and Rob Schilt. His commitment to his players and his community was evident in every aspect of his life.

Toby Golembiewski leaves behind his wife, Jodi, and their two children, Max and Sophie. His legacy is one of strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication to both his sport and his community.

He will be remembered not only for his achievements on the football field but also for his profound impact on those around him, inspiring others through his courage and selflessness.
