Jackson Fendley Obituary : Jackson Fendley Death : Former Spotswood High School Student Killed in Lake Gaston Boating Accident

Funeral arrangements have been finalized for Jackson Fendley, a former Spotswood High School student who tragically died in a boating accident over the weekend in North Carolina. The community is coming together to mourn the loss of the 19-year-old, whose life was abruptly cut short.


The funeral service for Jackson Fendley is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at two o’clock at the First Presbyterian Church on Court Square in Harrisonburg. Following the service, the family will receive friends, providing an opportunity for loved ones and members of the community to offer their condolences and support.

Jackson Fendley's untimely death occurred last Saturday on Lake Gaston, a popular recreational area straddling the border of North Carolina and Virginia. The fatal accident happened when the boat he was riding in collided with a dock. 

This tragic event has left his family and friends in deep sorrow, as they remember a young man who had a bright future ahead of him.

Another passenger on the boat, 20-year-old Addison Sheahan, was also involved in the accident but fortunately was not injured. Addison's father, a teacher at Spotswood High School, has also been deeply affected by the incident, and the school community has rallied around both families during this difficult time.

The cause of the boating accident is currently under investigation. Authorities are working to determine the circumstances that led to the collision, seeking to understand what went wrong on that fateful day.
