A tragic incident unfolded in Madison County, Nebraska, on Saturday morning, April 13th, as a two-vehicle rollover accident left three minors injured.
The Madison County deputies rushed to the scene at the intersection of 547 Ave. and 832nd Rd. around 10:50 a.m. following reports of the collision.
The accident involved a 2016 Chevy Trax traveling south on 547 Ave. and a 2003 Ford F-150 heading east on 832nd Rd.
All three individuals involved were minors. Upon impact, the Trax flipped onto its top, trapping a 17-year-old female inside.
Fortunately, a passing vehicle stopped and aided in freeing her from the overturned car.
The Ford F-150 also rolled over but landed upright. Tragically, the 17-year-old female driver was ejected and pinned beneath the vehicle, while the 15-year-old male passenger was thrown be approximately 30 yards from the scene.
Both Ford occupants sustained severe injuries and were rushed to an Omaha hospital with potential life-threatening conditions.
Meanwhile, the Trax's driver, also a 17-year-old female, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Faith Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Despite the utilization of seatbelts by the Chevy driver and the Ford's passenger, the Ford's driver was reportedly not wearing one.
The collision resulted in the total loss of both vehicles. The identities of the victims remain undisclosed at this time as investigations continue.
The community mourns this unfortunate incident, emphasizing the importance of road safety and adherence to traffic regulations, especially among young drivers.
