Tragedy struck at Carolina Cotton Works on Commerce Drive in Cherokee County when an industrial accident claimed the life of 30-year-old Brianna Danielle Coyle.
The incident, which occurred around 11:30 a.m., involved Coyle becoming trapped at a machine she was operating, according to statements from the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office.
Co-workers discovered Coyle trapped and promptly transported her to Cherokee Medical Center. Despite their efforts and the medical team's intervention, Coyle succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.
The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office, along with South Carolina's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), have initiated investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Their inquiries aim to determine the cause of the incident and to prevent similar tragedies in the future, shedding light on workplace safety protocols and potential improvements within the industry.
